The 2018 Sports Analytics World Championships is a global competition that celebrates those of us with a passion for data in sports, media and entertainment. As the largest event of its kind, this unique competition engages thousands of professionals and students each year who strive to develop and demonstrate sports analysis skills. Online Rounds 1 and 2 will be held on 7th and 14th July 2018 and Top 12 World Finals in Melbourne, Australia on 9th-10th August 2018. HIGHLIGHTS FOR SPORTIEN 2018
4 Hour Online Rounds
Competitors have 4 hours to complete the Online Rounds (both Round 1 and Round 2). However, there will be up to 6 Bonus Marks on offer for those who finish early. You will earn 1 Bonus Mark for every 10 minutes early you finish (up to a maximum of 6 marks). For example, if you complete an Online Round in 210 min (30 min early), you will score 3 Bonus Marks, if you finish in 192 min (48 min early) = 4 Bonus Marks, etc.
Everyone Gets to try Round 2
Even if you don’t qualify for the Official Round 2, you can now try the questions. Not only that, but you will have a 24-hour window to give it your best shot and we’ll even send you your marks. At the end of the day, we just want to give participants the opportunity to try the questions, develop their skills and have fun competing in Sportien.
Get the Questions Straight after the Round
We know how hard it is to finish all the Sportien Questions in time, so now we are going to make the Questions available as soon as each Online Round is over. Participants can try that question again in a more relaxed setting, or tackle a section you ran out of time for. It’s all in the name of ensuring you don’t miss out on the sports analysis learning.
